The metrics are obtainable but don't make the company money, it just forces people to sell cards/warranties and that's how we get that negative public image.Īll in all, a good job depending on where you're at. If I was anywhere close to Philly like the other stores I would lose my mind trying to juggle fresh employees while dealing with customer theft and somehow finishing task AND meeting ridiculous metrics. The work wasn't stressful necessarily, but I was also in a very slow store. It's not abnormal to do all of those within an 8-hour shift.
My typical workload was: key holding, in/out shipments (from our warehouse, other stores, people ordering things online, etc), processing transactions and trades, organizing/cleaning the store, doing inventory counts. $9/hr definitely isn't enough to pay someone for all the work you have to do. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was making $9/hr in the Philly area. Corporate has too many stores open and because of that can't afford to pay people enough to keep them. Corporate seems to be out of touch with their brick and mortar stores as well as with their customers.
Beyond that, there isn't too much to say in the way of positive experiences. Heck, even my district leader was experienced and nice. All of Southern California is within easy reach when you stay near the airport with us at Quality Inn & Suites Los Angeles Airport - LAX Hotel. My manager was friendly, fair, a good leader and I got along with all of my peers. You are close to Westfield Culver City mall, and it is surrounded by discount stores, like Marshalls, Ross, Target. You would think even the mall could spare a few spots by eataly at least.but those spots are actually like $120 or something to park there.This was a nice job, but there are a lot of issues within the company. Sucks that the malls and the companies do nothing for you.
I think on Sundays, some of the meters closer to the mall are free but it doesn't matter because they're always taken unless you're lucky. A LOT of people parked on beverly glen and walked up to the mall. Part timers the company didn't pay, even if you worked full time hours. They have a partnership with abs security or whatever and it was like $100 a month unless the company you worked for compensated the parking for you (in my case, it was full-time and manager positions). Ive worked at century city for the past 2 years, finally leaving a few months ago.
